How it is decided

Market rules

YES if every listed member of at least one overall winning team is enrolled at the University of Waterloo at the time of the hackathon. Mixed-university teams do not qualify. Use voluntary enrollment confirmations or public institutional records, not names or appearance. NO requires enough evidence to rule out all-Waterloo membership for every overall winning team; otherwise VOID. Overall winners means any team officially announced as an overall Hack the North 2026 winner; sponsor-only prizes do not count. If the event is cancelled or the available evidence cannot establish YES or NO, resolve VOID. Trading closes before closing ceremonies; do not reopen after the result is known.

After resolutionTrading stops at the listed close time. Completed trades made before close remain valid and settle under these rules. Orders or trade attempts submitted after close are not accepted; any unfilled order-book reservations are released. If the market is voided, each YES and NO contract pays 50% of the listed winner payout, which may differ from its purchase price.
